became our 27th Prime Minister of Australia.
An incredible day in Australian politics.

And about time too! Isn't it amazing that in this day and age, so-called advanced nations still hardly ever have female leaders. But in the 70s, Sri Lanka had Mrs Bandaranaika (sp?) and Israel Mrs Meir, Pakistan has had Benazir Bhutto.

Why are we so far behind. I can't even bring myself to include Mrs Thatcher, 'cos as far as I was concerned she was a man in drag.

Well, now we have a female prime minister and a female governor general.

If Labor win the next election later this year, I wonder if they'll keep her on as Prime Minister?

I think everyone here is still in shock at the turn of events. Time will tell.
