Sunday, 22 April 2012

A lazy weekend after a very busy and tiring week. should get a lovely pay this week. A bit of clothes washing and a small amount of housework. Dogs clipped and washed.

I will be getting some quotes for new guttering on the house as I have finally decided on a new colour for the gutters, will be glad to get rid of the mission brown, some trees will be removed as they are knocking against the house on high wind days.

We have been getting drenched here on the coast but the weather man has promised us 5 days of some Sunny periods. Whoopie!
I feel sad for all the people living inland New South Wales who are being inundated with flood waters.

Avoca Beach Rock Shelf

I had been out visiting friends when I came across this Water Dragon lizard which had been sheltering under my car to get away from the rain, these lizards are everywhere on the Central Coast especially around the Kincumber area.

I dropped into a local Salvo store on Friday to have a look to see if they had anything interesting,
and walked out with this large framed print -
The Loggers' Teabreak by D'arcy W Doyle
for a bargain price of $30.

I love it. The composition of the colours is superb.

Sunday, 5 February 2012

These last few weeks the weather has been feral, we have not had a very warm summer.

Saturday, the sun came out after a full week of pouring rain or rather it stopped raining but was overcast until the afternoon.

Making the most of the day I went along to the Farmers Market at The Entrance.

Live coverage of Australia Day 2012
including Darling Harbour fireworks.

Watching the live stream from Darling Harbour brought back memories of the year
I took my 5' tall, 78 year old mother to the Australia Day fireworks.

A pack of 6' tall teenagers formed a circle around her
to protect her from the jostling crowd.

C'mon Grandma we'll look after you, they said.
Stand clear, Grandma coming through, they yelled.
Laughter all round. AusDay, 1996.

I went back to work on Wednesday but some clients forgot to inform office they will be going away on holidays so had a quiet week, next year I will take more time off over the New Year break.

Mowed back and front yards yesterday. a hot day, today have no energy which is annoying as I had planned to go down to the Sydney Festival 2012
 http://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/info/
which started late yesterday with Festival First Night.. Huge program of events scattered over multiple sites from 7 January till 29 January.

I have no work rostered on Friday so will try to attend as many free events as I can and seriously thinking of  staying overnight.

The Entrance Farmers Market

Photobucket

The Entrance Farmers Market this morning, fine and sunny, crowded, lots of stalls. Bought my home-made soap, vegetables and home-made sausage rolls which I wished I had bought more of and put in the freezer.
