I'm enjoying my holidays.

Photobucket
 No alarm clocks,
not having to leave the house except to shop for food,
no phone calls from work,
no battling the peak hour traffic.
Bliss.

Saturday 19 December 2009

While everyone is madly rushing around doing their Christmas shopping. Santa and his Aussie helpers have some quiet time before he heads back home to the North Pole to do last minute preparations
for the Big Day.

Only kidding!

Here is the latest photo of my poor garden shed.
Photobucket
The roof is now completely caved in and the tree behind it has taken over the interior. I started slowly to chop/hack/saw away at the hanging branchs filling my green garden bin which gets emptied by the council truck tomorrow morning.

After I clear most of the foliage away I can see my weekend being taken up with dis-mantling the shed .

Wednesday 9 December 2009

After work, I spent the day mowing the front and back lawn. This warm weather gets me out into the garden doing 'stuff'. I don't have a green thumb so need to 'do' when I'm in the mood.

I would have a garden pic but photobuck is in maintenance mode so will insert a photo soon.

Blogger page is in continuous loop so maybe it is also having time-out for maintenance also.

Happy Birthday to me.

My only wish is that  the coming year is an improvement on this last year. I feel I need to make a 'bucket list' and persevere with it. No more puting off things till tomorrow ... or the next day ...week...etc.

The choice of 'Daisy Bell' was a tribute to the IBM 704, which, thanks to the brilliant programmers at Bell Labs, became the first computer to sing, way back in 1962. The popular ditty from the late 19th century was chosen by geniuses John L. Kelly, Carol Lockbaum, and Max Mathews as part of a demonstration of speech synthesis.

You know I would love to get a ringtone
of "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do?".
It would be brilliant to hear that verse
everytime my mobile phone rang. lol.

Friday 6 November 2009

I had planned on going to the shops to stock up on some groceries but the medication I am on has drained my energy so will spend the day just pottering around the house. The weather is overcast and miserable back to wearing long pants and shirts. I love the freedom that warm weather gives you when you're not laden down with winter-weight clothes.

Wednesday 4 November 2009

I had an appointment today with my doctor to check if I was able to go back to work, after he spent sometime manipulating my shoulder here-there-allover, he decided I need to have xray and scan done to see why there is still some pain in shoulder.

Afterwards,  I had to go into work to fill out an incident form and drop off doctor's certificate and receipts on monies I had paid for appointment, while I was in the office I had a chat with my supervisor and office manager to discuss my future hours as my contract is coming up for renewal... both very supportive and will wait on results of xray and scan to see how many hours I lose or will be increased (before this problem I had been asked if I would like to have an extra 5 hours a week). was chuffed that at 56 yo I have been offered more hours.lol.

My work is physically demanding and  I don't want to push myself that eventually I have to retire with injuries/wear'n'tear. Manager said there is a possiblity that if I drop to 5 hours less a week on contract they could still give me relief work to bring it back up to my present workload. So basically its a win/win situation.

Monday 2 November 2009

A lazy day today, lots to do
but because of my sore shoulder I have to take it easy.

I am still waiting for my annual leave to be approved I sent it in over a month ago but because my supervisor was on leave for 3 weeks, she is only now attending to it ... not happy...because now others in my team have put in request for their leave now. Cross fingers she processes by date not top of pile.

Yeh! I know I'm having a whinge but my leave is for the Christmas and New Year weeks, we get so much tourist traffic over this period plus Christmas shoppers that it is quite stressful to drive in amongst them ... especially near the beachs as the tourists tend to rubber-neck and potter. lol

Sunday 1 November 2009

Today I spent just pottering  around the house, I have decided to change the colour schemes of various rooms and am tryin to visualise how they will look when painted a different colour.

Saturday 31 October 2009

Talk about Freaky Friday.

Today, I injured my shoulder at work, off to the doctors and now he has me on Valium and Voltaren. I'm off work until Tuesday that is unless my shoulder is still sore than I need to return to doctor and have some tests done.

Darcy has decided he needs to be close by me but does he need to take over my lap table it makes reading my book a little difficult.

Monday 26 October 2009

This morning I found a canister of bush flower seeds in the garage with an expiry date of July, 2006..lol.
Photobucket
(Stock photo)
So as rain was forcast for later today I sprinkled the seeds in amongst the earth I had raked over the day before, well by late afternoon the heavens opened and we had torrentail rain all afternoon and more is predicted tomorrow.  I haven't had a chance yet to go out and check to see if any of the seeds are still there but I have a feelings my neighbour at  the back will end up with a beautiful garden of bush flowers.

Sunday 25 October 2009

I have spent the last few days changing everything from bed linen, winter clothes to summer clothes - washing and storing away winter wear, purchasing new summer clothes after realising I had been wearing the same summer clothes for the last 3-5 years.

Yesterday I spent mowing and getting rid of clutter in the yard, this seems to be a never ending job ( I work Mon-Fri so I only have the weekends to do yard work) and as I don't seem to have a 'green thumb' it takes me forever to get motivated.lol.
Photobucket
The bare area in picture is the area I cleared of branches, twigs and rubble. So once again I filled the green bin and some went into the red household bin ready to go out this Thursday.

I intend having a quiet day today, well thats the intention anyway...Okaay... forgot I was up early to wash winter sheets, towels and work clothes. lol. The current weather is warm and overcast so hopefully everything will be dry before the afternoon rain.

This week the local birds have been particularly hard on him
as they tend the young. Everytime he ventures outside they dive-bomb him.

Poor Darcy fainted
upon hearing the news
Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe
will be leaving LO:Criminal Intent
Photobucket
and I for one will be happy when this
eratic weather settles down,
I'm getting a little tired of the migraines it is triggering.

Sunday 27 September 2009

The Dynamic Duo wil be no more after the two-episode
premiere of Season 9 of LO:Criminal Intent

Photobucket

I personally think we have been extemely lucky to have
Vincent and Kathryn
for so many episodes as primarily they are movie actors.

Photobucket
Photobucket

We have 131+? episodes of LO:CI
plus their respective movies to re-watch on DVD

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Though my reaction when I found out would have done
Mr Bean proud.
Photobucket

So now finally Vincent can wipe that
USANetwork logo off his scene shot.
Photobucket

And the Dynamic Duo can perform their
little Happy Dance in their final episodes
Photobucket

We can show our appreciation of their talent and
give them a standing ovation at the end of their Innings.

NBC is finally confirming what I first hinted at last week: Vincent D’Onofrio is exiting Law & Order: CI. He’ll say good-bye in the show’s two-part season 9 premiere, at which time he’ll pass the baton to co-star Jeff Goldblum.
